April 12, 2011

Bakersfield - A wrong-way truck driver has sustained major injuries after he collided head-on with a big rig along Highway 65, north of Famoso Road, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.

According to reports, the truck driver identified as Brian Dale Ervin, 39, from Visalia, was moving south when he suddenly lost control of his GMC Sierra, causing him to drift into the opposite lanes. He then collided with a northbound Freightliner being driven by Jose Felix, 44, from Lindsay.

Authorities arrested the truck driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was hospitalized in order to receive immediate medical treatment for his injuries.
