Car Accident: Woman Badly Hurt in I-580 Solo Crash

Livermore – A 19-year-old female driver suffered from serious injuries Monday morning after her vehicle dropped 500 feet down an embankment near Interstate 580 in the Altamont Pass, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.
According to reports, Terilyn Carter-Woodard was driving a silver Mustang on the eastbound lanes of I-580 at around 11:20 am when for unknown reasons, it swerved, crossed all the lanes, and went off the road and into an embankment.
The victim was extricated by firefighters from the wrecked car. She was airlifted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley for treatment.
Woodard was wearing her seatbelt when the accident happened. Investigators are still identifying possible factors that might have caused the crash.
