DOG BITE: Vicious Dog Attack Severe Young Victims Ear
January 25, 2012Moreno Valley – A vicious dog attack happened in Moreno Valley, California when a large dog attacked a young boy and his mother while having a walk through their neighborhood, severing the boy’s ear.
The attack of a 120-pound bull mastiff happened around 11:40 AM near the intersection of Indian and Myers avenues, reports said.
According to reports, Maria Juarez, along with her 6-year-old son Ruben who just came out of school, was pushing a stroller carrying a younger child when the attack happened.
The bull mastiff escaped from the gate and attacked the two, reports said. The dog tore the part of the boy’s ear and also bit the back of his head. His mother tried to shoo away the dog, but she was also bitten.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and the boy was rushed to the hospital. He underwent surgery to re-attach his damaged ear. He was discharged from the hospital Tuesday night, reports said.
The dog was seized by the Moreno Valley Animal Control Services thereafter. The bull mastiff was found to have no history of dog bites, but according to reports, it is now awaiting death.
