VEHICLE CRASH: Two People Injured after Jeep Crashed into Home in Dowey

Dowey – At least two people were hospitalized after a Jeep Wrangler smashed into a home in Dowey this morning.
According to Dowey police, the car accident occurred at about 1:45am within Brookshire Avenue and Stewart and Gray Road.
The Jeep smashed all the way into the bedroom of the house.
Rescuers found a bloodied man was inside the house and a girl, about 6-years-old, with non-life threatening injuries. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
There were no reports on the seriousness of the man’s condition.
The Jeep driver tried to run from the accident scene but was chased by neighbors who heard the crash.
He was detained until authorities came.
A passenger was also removed from the Jeep after being trapped following the crash.
There was also no information on whether the passenger was injured in the accident.
The driver was arrested by Downey police in suspicion of drunken driving, but his identity is being withheld pending booking.
The Jeep Wrangler was finally removed at about 3:20 am and firefighters shored up the damaged bedroom with lumber.
