Los Angeles - A Dorsey High student was killed after her own mother's car struck her in front of the school at Farmdale Avenue on Thursday at 7:40 a.m.
According to Los Angeles Police reports, Taylor Griffin Galloway has ridden off her mother's car and walked in front of the vehicle to cross the lane. Concurrently, her mother started to pull forward, hitting her.
Paramedics arrived and rushed the teenager to a local hospital, but she died shortly after medical attempts.
School administrators commented that Taylor was performing well in school and had just received a $30,000 scholarship grant to Howard University.
