BICYCLE ACCIDENT: Teenage Girl Injured in Broadway Car-Bike Crash

Santa Maria- A teenage girl suffered injuries after a car hit her bicycle in Broadway near Stowell Road on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.
According to reports, the 16-year-old cyclist was crossing the wrong side of the intersection when the car struck her.
Gary Bern, the car driver, was sitting at a red light at the intersection and when the light turned green, he headed southbound and collided with the westbound cyclist. The girl was knocked to the ground, reports said.
Paramedics arrived and transported the girl to Marian Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. She was transferred to Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment.
Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
