Teen Tries to Flee After Plowing SUV into Market

Placentia, CA - A 19-year old driver along with his three passengers tried to flee the scene after he plowed his SUV into a market.

Arnold Dela Torre, 19, resident of Anaheim, was believed to be the SUV driver. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and felony drunken driving. He is currently being detained at Orange County jail.

According to Placentia police Lt. Eric Point, the crash occurred at Gonzales Market, 235 W. La Jolla St.

The driver and his three passengers fled after he plowed a 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer around 10 feet through the market’s front doors. Arriving police found three people fleeing the scene and carrying a woman who was injured due to the crash.

The woman was brought to Anaheim Memorial Medical Center after sustaining a leg injury.

The market was closed during the crash.
