Strip Mall Façade Collapses; 2 People Trapped

LA PUENTE – A strip mall’s façade collapsed and briefly trapped two people inside Thursday, authorities said.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident happened at around 2:05 p.m. at 16010 E. Main Street.
When authorities came to the scene, they found that the façade of the single storey strip mall has caved in.
The two women who were inside a beauty salon were trapped after the debris blocked the doorway, authorities said.
No one was seriously injured after the accident but two cars were reported to have been damaged by the debris.
About 50 firefighters assisted in rescuing the two women and removing the debris from the scene.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been reported.
