CAR ACCIDENT: Speeding Driver in Bicycle Lane Dies in Carlsbad Solo Car Accident

Carlsbad- A 23-year-old female motorist who was speeding along a bicycle lane died after her vehicle crashed into two utility poles and burst into flames, said reports.
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and Carlsbad police, Brittany Pursell was moving south along El Camino Real and was trying to avoid stopping at a red light when her 2007 Volkswagen Jetta suddenly veered towards a sidewalk on Levante Street.
The vehicle then slammed into a utility pole, moved towards the other side of the intersection, struck another utility pole, and caught fire.
Reports said Pursell was thrown off the vehicle due to the impact. She was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, but was announced dead on arrival.
