VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Sleeping Elderly Man in Building Seriously Injured in Pixley Crash

Pixley- A 53-year-old man who was sleeping inside a building sustained serious injuries after a car being driven by a dozing driver crashed into it, said reports.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, the crash occurred at around 1:30 a.m. along the 1100 block of North Park Street.

The driver identified as 34-year-old Feliz Robertson, from Las Vegas, was traveling north along Highway 99 at a speed of 70 mph when he fell asleep behind the wheel, causing the vehicle to hit a metal pole and a parked vehicle.

The vehicle then crashed into the building where the elderly man identified as Alejandro Dugay, from Earlimart, was sleeping in.

According to reports, Dugay was first brought to Tulare Regional Medical Center, but was then airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center.
