AVIATION ACCIDENT: Probe into Death of Racing Champ, 2 Others in Barstow Plane Crash Underway

San Bernardino - Aviation authorities are currently trying to determine the possible causes of a small plane crash that claimed the lives of off-road racing champion Rick Huseman and his two companions, reports said.
Reports said the plane crash occurred near Lake Dolores in Barstow early afternoon on Sunday. Huseman was on board the Beechcraft Bonanza with his brother, Jeffrey and a friend, Daniel hicks.
Authorities said the plane was attempting to make an emergency landing before it crashed down. The three were flying back from the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas.
Rick Huseman won the 2010 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series and made history by winning 10 of the 15 rounds, setting a new single short-course record in his No. 36 pro 4x4 Toyota Tundra.
