Yina Gonzalez, 24, and the child she was carrying died in a two-car crash that happened at around 1 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the other car, which is registered to John F. Sudac, 27, stopped briefly and then fled the scene.
Gonzalez's husband, 5-year-old daughter, and two other relatives were injured.
The CHP is seeking Sudac and another driver of a third car whom witnesses said have stopped at the scene, took Gonzalez's purse and drove off.
