Police Searches for Hit-and-Run Driver who Critically Injured Bicyclist

November 4, 2009

Anaheim - Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a male bicyclist with critical injuries lying along the street.

According to authorities, the 54-year-old bicyclist from Anaheim was pedaling west on Broadway between Kroeger and Atchinson streets when he went around a parked car. He was then hit by a vehicle that was also heading west. The vehicle driver kept on driving after injuring the bicyclist.

The bicyclist received treatment from paramedics before he was brought to a hospital with internal and head injuries. He continues to be under a critical condition even after two days following the accident.

Although investigators do not have a definite description of the vehicle involved, they consider that it may have been a dark colored minivan or SUV. In addition, the incident may have caused the vehicle’s passenger side to be damaged and also wrecked its passenger-side mirror.
