Police Investigates Death of Man on Wheelchair

Santee- Authorities are investigating an accident that ended the life of a man who was crossing the road on an electric wheelchair.

According to authorities, the man who was identified as Hector Villasenor, 60, from Santee, went onto Carlton Hills Boulevard and directly crossed the path of a pickup truck that was moving southbound.

The 49-year-old truck driver, from Lakeside, failed to stop the vehicle and struck the man’s wheelchair.

Police said alcohol did not seem to be a factor in the accident and no criminal charges will be filed against the driver at this moment.
