PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Police Commemorates Tragic Accident with Safety Campaign
September 16, 2010
Brentwood – Law enforcers have launched a safety campaign to commemorate the death of a teenager who died while crossing a street to catch a bus seven months ago.
Police officers handed out safety fliers with signs that read: “Slow Down for Julia”.
Julia Stigler, 13 years old, was hit by two cars while crossing Sunset Boulevard at Cliffwood Drive. She was a student at Harvard-Westlake School.
The campaigned was aimed at calling the attention of motorists to reduce speed when traveling in busy places and areas such as school zones and parks.
The teenager’s family members also created a Facebook memorial page to honor the memory of their daughter.
