Police Asks for Public Help in Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver

January 14, 2010

San Diego- Authorities are asking for public assistance in their search of a hit-and-run driver responsible for the death of a 63-year-old disabled woman.

According to authorities, the woman who was identified as Judith Tellez was hit last week while she was crossing Old Highway 80 near Los Coches Road. The accident occurred around 125 feet away from her house, said police.

The woman suffered from a skull fracture, broken back and legs due to the incident. She was under a coma for a week before she was announced dead.

The vehicle was described by witnesses as a dark-colored Ford Expedition. Authorities said it probably sustained front-end damage.

Investigators are still collecting evidence and following leads in their hope of finding the driver responsible for the fatal accident.
