Aviation Accident: Plane Crash Survivor Still Missing
January 24, 2010
Santa Cruz Mountains– Authorities are yet to locate the site for possible survivors of a recent plane crash in Santa Cruz Mountains that prompted a three-county search.
Reports indicate that the passenger called 9-1-1 about 12:50 p.m. to report the crash. He reportedly radioed the FAA located in Oklahoma earlier to report that they were flying above hills near Stanford.
The 9-1-1 call prompted rescuers from San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz to search the mountains.
Authorities will pursue investigations regarding reports that the pilot was unconscious before the crash took place.
