TRAIN ACCIDENT: Pickup Driver Dead in Moorpark Train Crash

Moorpark – A train accident in the rural Ventura County claimed the life of a pickup driver this morning.
According to Amtrak spokesman Vernae Graham, no one else was hurt in the collision between a pickup and a northbound Pacific Surfliner in Moorpark.
The collision occurred at about 10:30am in a private crossing and delayed three other trains up to 1 ½ hours.
According to CHP, the pickup driver was breathing and coherent after being pulled from the wreckage but died later at the scene.
The victim was said to be in his 40s and was driving a Toyota Tundra.
The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification of his family.
