TRUCK ACCIDENT: People Injured in Fiery Big Rig Collision on I-5

Grapevine, CA – Two big rig trucks collided on Interstate 5 near Grapevine Road Thursday afternoon, causing heavy traffic along the northbound lanes, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to authorities, the collision, which occurred at around 1:11pm, may have inflicted one or two people with severe injuries. Firefighters rushed to the scene as one of the big rigs burst into flames.

Some of the northbound lanes of I-5 were blocked while officers were clearing the scene. Officials have yet to identify what could have caused the collision.
