August 30, 2010

Bakersfield – A parolee from Bakersfield has been arrested by Kern County Police after a boating accident that killed one person this weekend.

The police said the death was caused by a collision between two boats on Lake Webb at Buena Vista Lake at about 5:00pm last Saturday.

Salvador Rodriguez, 28, sustained major injuries and was declared dead a short time later.

The other boater, Justin Ennis, 23, of Bakersfield is currently held at Kern County Jail after being charged with manslaughter, boating under the influence and felony parole violations.

Ennis is currently on parole after being convicted of assault related to the death of Lora Shine in 2008.

He was originally arrested for a murder 2 charge that was reduced to assault charges following a plea deal.
