Car Accident: Parking and Traffic Employee Seriously Injured after San Francisco Car Accident

July 23, 2010

San Francisco – A city Department of Parking and Traffic employee was rushed to a hospital following a car accident in San Francisco this morning.

According to authorities, the traffic enforcement employee was travelling on the northbound lane of Polk Street when his three-wheel DPT cart was struck by a vehicle coming from Ellis Street.

The other driver apparently ran a red light in the intersection.

The collision caused the traffic officer’s cart to rollover and ejects him onto the street, causing him to land on his head.

The traffic officer, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital.

He sustained some serious injuries but is expected to survive.

The driver who struck the traffic officer stopped at the scene after the car accident.

There were no reports if he will be charged as of the moment.
