CAR ACCIDENT: OC Drunk Driver sentenced to prison for Fatal Crash

Orange County – County prosecutors have sentenced a Huntington Beach drunk driver to 16 months in state prison for the death of a female passenger in a fatal crash two months ago. A Huntington Beach drunken driver was sentenced Thursday to 16 months in state prison for killing his female passenger after admitting guilt in the fatal crash, county prosecutors said.
The District Attorney’s office said Vicente Garcia Ramirez pleaded guilty to “one felony count of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated without gross negligence” and “one misdemeanor count of driving a motor vehicle without a valid license”.
The accident occurred early morning of January 9 while Ramirez was driving his Nissan Altima with his friend, Joyce Lopez. Ramirez had been to a party and a bar and was found with an alcohol level of .08.
Based on the accident report, Ramirez lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.
