Railway Accident: Muni Train Accident in San Francisco Injures Three

February 18, 2010

San Francisco – A train accident between two San Francisco Municipal light-rail street cars injured three people this morning.

According to Muni spokesman Judson True, an F-Market streetcar and a J-Church train collided with each other before 6:24 am on San Jose Avenue near the Highland Avenue overcrossing.

Both were traveling inbound, toward downtown.

The injured parties include the operator of the F-Market train and two women who were passengers in the J-Church.

They were all brought to a nearby hospital. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

There were no passengers on the F-Market street car when the collision occurred.

Authorities are still investigating possible causes of the accident.

Bus shuttles were set up to accommodate J-Church riders between San Jose Avenue, 30th Street and Balboa Park.
