Motorized garage door kills 3-year-old boy

Palmdale, CA – A 3-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a malfunctioning motorized garage door in Palmdale Tuesday.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred at around 6:15 p.m. when a woman was getting ready to leave home with her two sons and was trying to close the garage door when it malfunctioned, hitting the boy in the head.
The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later.
Homicide detectives verified that the death was an accident.
