Tulare – A Ducor man has remained hospitalized and in serious condition after sustaining major injuries when his motorcycle hit a dump truck near Avenue 56 Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports indicate that Zachary Hopson was on his Honda CBR600 and was heading south along Mountain 109 at around 2:30 pm when he drifted to the northbound lanes and hit a Freightliner that was going about 20mph.
The driver of the truck was identified as Jairo Duenas from Bakersfield. He appeared to be unharmed.
Authorities say Hopson was going around 45-50 mph when the collision occurred.
Hopson was reportedly thrown from his motorcycle and was immediately brought to Kern Medical Center for treatments as police continue to investigate the possible factors that led to the crash.
