Ventura County - A 48-year-old male motorcyclist has sustained critical injuries after he collided with a car near Ojai, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.
The motorcyclist James Renshaw, from Ojai, was traveling south along Highway 33 near Baldwin Road when a car being driven by Whitney Cooke, 17, also from Ojai, suddenly turned left against a red arrow from northbound of Highway 33 to westbound of Baldwin Road.
Reports said Renshaw then collided with the car and was ejected from his motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was unresponsive and unconscious at the accident area. He was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center to be treated for a fractured ankle, a ruptured spleen, and head trauma, said authorities.
The teen driver was not injured in the collision.
