HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: Mother Accidentally Runs over Daughter; Reported it as Hit-and-Run

September 22, 2010

Bakersfield – A 28-year-old mother was arrested yesterday after accidentally hitting her 4-year-old child then falsely reporting that her daughter was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Aimee Archer called 911 at about 8:30 pm Tuesday night to report that her daughter was struck by an unidentified motorist, who fled the scene after the car accident.

However, investigations revealed that Archer was actually the one who accidentally ran her child over with her vehicle.

She then brought her child home and called 911 to make the false report.

Her daughter is currently in an area hospital but her condition is still unknown.

Archer was charged with one count of felony child endangerment and false report of an emergency.
