PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Missing Lafayette student found dead on 405 Freeway

Los Angeles — The missing Lafayette college student who was killed in a hit and run accident on 405 freeway was found dead.

Coroner's office informed the Los Angeles police that James Daniel O'Connell, 20 years old, had died in a collision near Getty Center Drive over the weekend.

Police officers had been searching for the missing Brentwood man since Saturday as requested by O'Connel's family.

The family reported that James Daniel had been in a party with his friends at Bel-Air/Beverly Crest community. He was last seen at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Coroner's office reported that the young man appeared to have been hit by two speeding vehicles on the 405 freeway. The drivers neither stopped nor helped the victim.

Police authorities were investigating the details on the cause of the accident, and whereabouts of the two drivers.
