Minivan Carrying Four People Fell at the Newport Bay

January 16, 2012

Newport Beach – A minivan on board an Orange County ferry plunged into the Newport Bay endangering the life of four family members, report said.

The Chang family was on their way from Taiwan to Southern California when they were rear-ended by a Mercedes.

The group consisted of a couple both on their 20’s, and their children, a four-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl.

Before the family’s vehicle sank at the 15 feet below the bay, a ferry worker and a boater rescued the victims.

The female driver of the black Mercedes told the authorities that the accelerator of her vehicle accidentally got stuck thus hitting the van.
