PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Kid struck by SUV after trying to buy ice cream

Oxnard – An unnamed 6-year-old boy was critically injured after getting hit by a car when he reportedly ran towards an ice cream truck across the street, yesterday.
A sports utility vehicle driven by Omar Robles Venegas, 27, hit the kid at around 3 p.m. while passing through Kamala Street, near Lassen Street.
According to the police, the boy reportedly ran from the curb south and into the street. Venegas swerved but was not able to avoid the boy.
The boy had fractured skull, internal bleeding, and spleen damage. Doctors said it is also likely that he acquired bruising to his brain. He is now getting treatment in Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
