SCHOOL BUS CRASH: Injured Students in Fresno school bus accident Hospitalized
August 25, 2010
Fresno - At least seventeen elementary students from the West Fresno Elementary School District were hospitalized Tuesday after the school bus they were riding struck a tree in Fresno, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.
According to the CHP, the students complained to the bus driver, 25-year-old Shaneka Love when she decided to head back to school after leaving the campus. Love started to back up in the parking lot when the bus crashed into a tree, breaking the rear windows.
The students were taken to a hospital for treatment as some of them sustained cuts and bruises while most of them were just shocked.
Southwest Transportation Agency said the school bus driver will be on paid leave while investigations are on-going.
