PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Girl in Critical Condition after Hit-and-Run

Dana Point – A 7-year-old girl remains in critical condition after she was hit by a light-colored vehicle while playing in front of her house near Silver Lantern Street Monday night, authorities said.
The girl’s father rushed her to Mission Hospital around 6:45 pm where the staff assessed the girl’s condition to be too critical for the Laguna Beach hospital. She was then moved to Children's Hospital of Orange County located in Mission Viejo.
Reports indicate that the child was playing with a 6-year-old girl when the vehicle drove by and hit her. The vehicle was described as a pick-up truck or a raised vehicle painted with a blue stripe.
Authorities are yet to apprehend the driver who failed to assist the girl and continued driving on the eastbound lane of La Paz Road.
