TRUCK ACCIDENT: Gerber Child ran over by trailer

Tehama – A 7-year old Gerber child suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a trailer towed behind his father’s truck at about 7 p.m. Thursday.
The child’s father, identified as Sergio Gonzalez Nino, 38, parked his truck on a private driveway to open a gate on Truckee Avenue east of Interstate 5.
Nino did not notice that his child, Mario Gonzalez went out of the truck through a rear sliding mirror and either fell or crawled out from the bed of the truck to the tailgate.
When the father returned to his truck and moved forward, the trailer ran over the boy.
The boy was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
