BIG RIG COLLISION: Five People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash at 405 Freeway
December 28, 2011Los Angeles – Five people were reported to have been injured after four vehicles and a big rig got involved in a collision at the 405 Freeway Wednesday morning.
Ed Jacobs, public information officer at the California Highway Patrol, has said that the accident happened at 4:30 AM south of Getty Center Drive.
According to Capt. Jaime Moore, public information officer at the Los Angeles Fire Department, the vehicle crash involved six people; five of whom have been transported to a nearby medical facility for immediate treatment of their injuries.
The wreckage led to the temporary closure of all the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway at Skirball Center Drive in the Sepulveda Pass, reports said. Drivers had to take an alternative route, taking the Sepulveda Boulevard instead.
After the victims have been extracted from the wreckage, the lanes were reported to have reopened by 6:30 AM. Traffic resumed all the way to Ventura Highway.
