PREMISE LIABILITY: Encino Toddler Critical in Near Drowning Incident

Encino – Paramedics have rescued a four-year old boy after nearly drowning in a backyard pool of a house in 5700 block of North Babbitt Avenue.

Reports said the young boy and his grandmother were visiting a house in the area when they toddler got away and found his way into the swimming pool.

The police have started investigations to determine how the boy was able to get to the pool. They also asked the homeowner to build or completely fence the swimming pool to prevent future incidents accidental drowning. The police also urged adults to keep an eye on young children.

The Southern California police said drowning accidents claim almost 2 lives in the area every year. The Consumer Safety Commission, on the other hand, has reported that nearly 350 children (below 5 years of age) drown in swimming pools each year.
