MINIVAN ACCIDENT: Elk Grove Police Investigates a Fatal Crash

Elk Grove - Police officers in Elk Grove have started an investigation involving a fatal crash at Sheldon Road on Friday.
According to reports, a minivan driver was traversing east of Sheldon Road when he swerved right and crashed onto a tree at 11:30 am. The elderly man sustained life-threatening injuries.
A registered nurse, who saw the injured man, stopped her vehicle and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Shortly after, rescuers arrived at the scene and transported the elderly man to a local hospital, reports said.
Police officers commented that the driver showed no signs of life at the accident scene.
Authorities closed the eastbound lane on Sheldon Road near Springhurst to conduct further investigation. Traffic operations are expected to resume in the afternoon.
