MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Elderly Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Hitting Deer in Sonoma County

Sonoma County- A 51-year-old male motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital after he hit a dear along Highway 101, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.

According to reports, the motorcyclist identified as Timothy Saala, from Santa Rosa, was traveling south near Geyserville when a deer suddenly blocked his path.

Saala was ejected from his 2009 Harley Davidson after he collided with the dear, said reports.

The motorcyclist lost consciousness due to the impact. He was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to be treated for major, but non-life threatening injuries.

According to authorities, alcohol does not appear to be involved in the accident.
