Elderly Man in Wheelchair Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

Santa Ana - A 62-year-old man in a wheelchair was severely injured after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

According to police, the man was hit by a white van that was traveling west at 500 E. Wellington Ave.

He was in the street when the accident happened. The driver did not stop his vehicle and was last seen moving towards Main Street, authorities said.

The van’s model and make were not instantly known, but it probably sustained front-end damage.

The elderly was brought to Western Medical Center with major injuries. He continues to be in the hospital’s intensive care.

Authorities are requesting for public assistance in locating the whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver.
