October 6, 2010
Watsonville – A 58-year-old man was seriously injured after being bitten numerous times by a pit bull on the leg Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The unnamed man suffered several puncture wounds on his lower leg, which caused significant amount of bleeding, according to Fire Capt. Corey Schaefer. He was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital.
Animal Services took custody of the pit bull, Princess, which apparently has been quarantined before for biting someone. Princess is chained at a storage unit in 400 block of West Beach, where she is used for nighttime security.
Although there are signs that warn of danger, people walking around can still be easily bitten by the dog, county agency interim director Lynn Miller reminded people.
