VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Eight-Vehicle Crash on 101 Freeway Leaves Man Dead

Camarillo Springs – An eight-vehicle collision on 101 Freeway near the Camarillo Springs left a 48-year old dump truck driver dead and caused some lanes going northbound of the freeway to remain closed.
According to a California Highway Patrol (CHP) official, the traffic remained backed up in the area. Motorists were also advised to take an alternate route.
The accident occurred in a construction zone just north of the Camarillo Springs Road shortly after midnight. It involved three dump trucks.
The victim has not yet been identified, but police said the man was from Sylmar.
