Palo Alto - A 24-year-old male driver was severely injured after his car veered off the roadway and hit a light pole and tree, said authorities.
According to reports, the accident occurred along west San Antonio Road, east of Middlefield Road, at around 5:52 am.
Responding officers found the man unconscious inside the vehicle. He was rushed to Stanford Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Westbound San Antonio Road between Middlefield Road and Leghorn Street was closed for over six hours due to the accident.
