Driver Dies in Train-Truck Collision

San Mateo, CA - A driver died after a train and a pickup truck collided early this morning.
The 101 local Caltrain from San Jose was traveling northbound when it struck the truck at about 6 a.m. near 9th Avenue in San Mateo, pushing it about four blocks to 5th avenue, before coming to a stop.
The driver of the truck, male, who was not named, died in the fatal crash.
The train-truck collision caused the delay of Caltrain service, stopping the five southbound trains and 10 northbound trains carrying hundreds of commuters.
The service resumed at 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. in southbound and northbound respectively.
Meanwhile, the death is being investigated.
