PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Driver Arrested for Intentional Hit-and-Run in Antioch
Antioch – A 51-year-old driver was arrested after authorities linked him to a fatal hit-and-run along Cavallo Road early Tuesday morning, reports said.
Police found Lucio Rivera-Avila, of Brentwood, less than a mile from the parking lot where a woman was said to be intentionally hit and dragged.
Reports show that Rivera-Avila had an argument with Shelly Davis shortly before 2 am as the two were sitting inside his truck in a store parking lot. Davis then started walking away when Rivera-Avila hit her with the truck throwing her into the air before she was dragged by the truck for some 50 feet.
Davis was found on the roadway with serious injuries and was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Investigators spotted the vehicle matching the truck seen on the store’s surveillance video less than a mile from the accident scene. Rivera-Avila agreed to be questioned about the hit-and-run.
He was arrested after admitting the crime.
