VEHICLE ACCIDENT: DUI Suspect Seized for Hit-and-Run Accident in Spring Valley

Spring Valley – The California Highway Patrol has arrested the suspect in a DUI hit-and-run incident happened around 6:15 a.m., Friday, near Jamacha Road and Sweetwater Road intersection.

Witnesses said 21-year old Jose Espinoza of Spring Valley was driving a Chevrolet pickup when he struck the driver’s side of a Lincoln Navigator after running a red light. Espinoza fled leaving his victim Yvonne Morgan of Lemon Grove who was then rushed to the Hospital for head injury treatment.

The officers were able to trace the owner of the pickup and seized Espinoza at his residence 20 minutes after the incident.

Witnesses identified the arrested suspect as the driver of the pickup. The authorities detained Espinoza for alleged hit-and-run felony and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
