ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: Child brain dead after a rollover accident

May 4, 2010

Dunningan – A car accident involving a 2-year-old boy and his father left the boy brain dead after being thrown out from their all terrain vehicle (ATV).

According to Officer Ken Walter, Sabino Robles, 36, and his son was driving his Honda FourTrax ATV along an agricultural field on County Road 85 in the town of Dunningan, Friday night. His son, who remains unnamed, was seated on his lap.

Robles allegedly lost control of the ATV, causing it to roll over to its left side and both passengers were ejected out of it. Neither of them was geared with any safety equipment.

The boy suffered major head injuries and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he was later pronounced brain dead. Robles sustained minor injuries.

No arrests were made but the investigation regarding the accident is ongoing.
