MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: CHP Officer Suspected of DUI after Motorcycle Crash

El Dorado County– A 47-year-old California Highway Patrol officer was hospitalized and arrested Friday night after a crash in the south of Fairplay Road which appears to be caused by drunk driving.
According to reports, CHP captain Robert D. Patrick was heading south along Mt. Aukum road around 8:45 pm when the Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding crashed after he failed to negotiate a turn.
The motorcycle skidded off the road into an embankment.
Patrick, who was working on the Valley Division Office in Rancho Cordova, was taken to a hospital after sustaining moderate injuries.
His level of sobriety was yet to be determined pending the test results.
