VEHICLE COLLISION: CHP Officer Killed, Two Others Injured in Highway 101 Head-On Collision

Mendocino County - A male California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was killed while two others were injured following a head-on collision along Highway 101 in Leggett, said reports.
According to authorities, CHP officer Thomas Adams, 24, from Fortuna, was moving north along the highway when he suddenly lost control of his 2009 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car, which then crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head on with a southbound 2004 Toyota Tundra being driven by Jeff Kidd, 39, from Perris.
Adams was announced dead at the accident area. Meanwhile, Kidd and his 31-year-old passenger identified as Jared Geldhofbond, from Riverside, sustained minor injuries and were brought to Jerold Phelps Hospital, said reports.
