VEHICLE ACCIDENT: CHP Investigating Cause of Highway 101 Chain Accident

February 25, 2010

Sherman Oaks – The California Highway Patrol is still trying to find out what caused the 8-vehicle chain accident that killed at least one person in a Los Angeles freeway last night.

The pile-up, which included a big rig, occurred on the eastbound US Highway 101 in the Sherman Oaks area.

The CHP told the media that there was a light drizzle at the time of the accident but would not confirm if it was a factor in the crash.

The CHP has not identified which car triggered the multi-vehicle collision either.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene.

The CHP has yet to release the number of people who were injured in the accident.
