Tulare County– California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers are investigating a vehicle collision which claimed the life of a six-year-old girl caused minor injuries to two others.

Authorities said a northbound pickup truck being driven by a 58-year-old woman was passing a big rig. The trailer then started to swerve, causing it and the pickup jackknife and roll over in front of the big rig.
The pickup truck was then hit by the big rig and was pinned against trees located along the side of the highway, said reports.
The six-year-old girl sustained fatal injuries due to the incident. Meanwhile, the elderly driver and another child passenger of the pickup suffered from minor injuries and were brought to Delano Community Hospital.
Reports said the big rig driver was uninjured in the incident.
