Big rig kills man on freeway

Los Angeles - A man was killed after being struck by a big rig while he was standing near his disabled vehicle last Thursday.

The accident happened at around 6:40 p.m. when the 47-year-old man had been tending to his vehicle on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes on Interstate 210 near the San Dimas Avenue exit, and then was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by John Matuguina, 45, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.

Kimbal also said that the motorist, whose name was not released, was treated at the accident scene and was transferred to San Dimas Community Hospital where he died shortly after.

The accident is still under investigation.
